East of Etive

2 November, 2017
Glorious autumn day bagging the 5 Munros east of Glen Etive. Steven was out doing a recci....

One of the advantages of being self employed is that there's flexibility to take advantage of good weather. So, with a fine forecast in place for this Thursday, I poured over maps. Decisions, decisions ! The Munros to the east of Glen Etive were chosen for a visit - purely for research, of course !

An early start ensured the maximum was gotten out of the day. The morning was blessed with clear skies and warmth out of the shade. Views from Ben Starav were vast and awesome. Heading up Beinn nan Aigehnan, still glorious, tho cloud was sneaking in from the south-west and Ben Cruchan's crest were in mist. I was lucky to get clear summits all day.

I met only 3 people all day ! This was also the first Munro outing for Charlie, our new dog who we'd got from the Dog Aid Society, being re-homed to us. She coped well, and thoroughly enjoyed her day. Back to the car as darkness fell, no-head-torch needed !
