Though considered to be part of the Fannich group of hills and mountains, Beinn Liath Mhor a' Ghiubhais Li stands quite isolated, its grass-covered slopes rising gently above Loch Glascarnoch and surrounding forestry.
With its summit just over 2km away from the roadside of the A835 and a forestry track up its north-western shoulder, Beinn Liath Mhor a' Ghiubhais Li can be bagged there-and-back in around 2 hours. However, most hillwalkers are likely to head up to its top as a detour on route to higher mountains in the Fannichs.
