Lochnagar and Callater Munros

28-29 Febraury 2016
Over a late February weekend, we'd planned two days hiking over the Munros above Glen Callater and Loch Muick. Lochnagar was the main target for Saturday and we'd try and squeeze in the neighbouring 4 Munros over the days. John Walker was leading, here's his tale ...

Beinn a'Bheithir, photo 1 I am quite prone to long blog entries, and have been trying to keep them a little more succinct of late. I could rattle on forever how beautiful this weekend was, how the snow and ice was near perfect, how the sun shone all day both days, how the company was excellent, and the routes satisfying. I could drone on about some of the most extensive views I have had on the Scottish mountains, the sculpted coires, the dazzling summits, the sparkling snow. I could even compare the glistening hoar frost crystals as they carpeted the pristine snow to a trillion diamonds set in a bed of Nature's purity.

But I won't.

I'll just say we were out on Saturday and did Cac Carn Mor on Lochnagar and Carn a Coire Bhoidheach, and on Sunday did Carn an t-Sagairt Mor, Cairn Bannoch and Broad Cairn. .....and it was wonderful. You'll just have to look at the pictures ;)
