Cairngorm and Ben Macdui

Guided winter-hiking day in the Cairngorms

In the heart of the Cairngorms are vast plateaux above huge cliffs, dark corries and long passes. To the east of the famed Lairig Ghru pass are two of Scotland's highest mountains - Ben Macdui and Cairngorm. Possibly the best time of year tol hike over these is in winter when the cliffs are at their most impressive and where the ptarmigan in their winter plumage and snow bunting bound around. Winter also makes for tricky navigation, so let one of our guides do the hard work for you to reach the summits of these two impressive Munros.
