Fisherfield 'Big 6'

Guided hillwalking and backpacking in the Northern Highlands

In the north-west of Scotland, the areas of Fisherfield and Letterewe are reckoned to be one of Europe's last wildernesses. This is a quiet area tucked behind Slioch and An Teallach and for the most part hidden well from roadside view. The mountains contained are very inaccessible and their isolation necessitates a long walk in, with careful planning and overnight camping.

At a glance

  • 4 days in the North-West Highlands, back-packing into the heart of one of Britain's last wildernesses.
  • Camping over 3 nights in a quiet and remote location, under vast starry skies far from light-pollution.
  • Savour expansive vistas from the summits including what many hikers consider to be the most stunning view in Scotland.
  • Bag 5 Munro summits including remotest A'Mhaigdean and perhaps take in a Corbett summit or two.
  • Join a small group led by an experienced leader familiar with the area.
