Binnein Shios is the lower and more rounded companion to Binnein Shuas, together forming the rugged ridge that separates Loch Laggan from Lochan na h-Earba in the Ardverikie Estate. Its broad slopes are mostly grass- and heather-covered, with extensive forestry clothing the lower flanks, particularly on the northern and western sides. The southern aspect, overlooking the twin lochs of Lochan na h-Earba, remains open and gives the hill a gentler character than its craggier neighbour.
Binnein Shios is most often climbed together with Binnein Shuas from near Luiblea or Ardverikie, making a fine half-day circuit with varied ground and excellent views. Alternatively, the hill can be approached directly from the southern end of upper Lochan na h-Earba, following a rising line north-west before turning north-east to gain the upper slopes.
