Binnein Shuas is the higher of the two Binneins that form the ridge of land dividing Loch Laggan from Lochan na h-Earba within the Ardverikie Estate. Its lower slopes are mainly grass-covered, but the upper reaches are encircled by crags and cliffs, particularly on the north and east faces, giving the hill a rugged and complex outline. By contrast, the hill’s southern slopes are gentler and rise more evenly towards the summit, which commands superb views northwards to Creag Meagaidh and across the Ardverikie Munros.

Most walkers combine Binnein Shuas with its lower neighbour Binnein Shios in a fine circuit above Loch Laggan. The ascent from Luiblea via the hill’s south-western shoulder gives the easiest line to the summit, while other alternatives make for a more rugged approach.
